Turning Roll Productivity-Oriented Technologies for the Welding Industry

A Welding Rotator, also known as a turning roll, turning roller, or roller bed, is used to weld spherical and longitudinal seams of cylindrical objects such as barrels, pressure vessels, and boilers. Similar to positioners, welding rotators are mechanical devices designed to rotate cylindrical vessels. The primary components of a welding rotator include the base, drive rollers, idlers, electrical cabinet, brackets, transmission system, and power-driven device.

The rotators feature high-quality solid PU ARA (Australia) rolls, which offer excellent load-bearing capacity, heat resistance, and wear durability, thanks to their bronze bushings. The final drive gears are specially modified for the turning roll application, and the worm wheels are reinforced with a center steel hub to withstand stresses. All bronze bushings are of the heavy-duty variety.

Additionally, the rotators are equipped with an electronic control panel and a remote control pendant, enabling forward and reverse rotation as well as speed adjustments. The variable frequency drives, controlled by Austweld Micno AC inverter motors, serve as the prime movers. Our design and production capabilities are tailored to meet the growing demands of pressure vessel manufacturers both domestically and internationally.
